FORMAT · BOX & CARTON
Carton & box
packaging design.
A carton is the only pack format that is also a structure. It has to fold, stack, survive a warehouse and still present a clean face at eye level — and the design has to work across every panel, not just the one in the mockup. We design folding cartons, rigid boxes, gift tubes and blister cards, and hand over artwork your printer can run.
WHAT WE DESIGN HERE
Every format in the aisle.
Designed around the fold, not the flat
Designing a carton front and then asking where the flaps go is how packs end up with a logo across a crease. We work to the structure your converter is actually going to make, so panel hierarchy, glue flaps, tuck tabs and the base are known before a single element is placed — and what we hand over needs no rescuing at pre-press.
Every panel is a surface, not an afterthought
Most cartons are seen from more than one angle in real life, and almost all of them are seen from the side on a shelf where facings are tight. Side panels carry the range logic, the top carries the shelf-edge read, and the back does the persuading for anyone who has already picked it up. Treating five of six panels as spare space is the most common waste in this format.
Substrate, finish and what actually prints
The same file behaves differently on a coated board, a kraft stock and a metallised laminate. Spot colours drift, foils need trapping, and an emboss that reads beautifully in a render can flatten a fine serif at 90gsm. We proof on the intended stock and adjust rather than hoping — and where a finish costs more than it earns, we say so.
Rigid boxes, tubes and gift formats
Gift and premium formats are judged by touch before they are read. Wrap alignment, edge finish and how the lid releases all carry more weight than any graphic decision, so structure and print get specified together. A gift tube in particular has no flat face at all, which changes where a mark can safely sit.
Blister cards and hanging packs
A blister card is smaller than it looks once the formed plastic is mounted, and the header has to work at eye level on a hook rather than flat on a shelf. Hang-hole placement, the printable margin around the seal and the back-of-card instructions all constrain the front, so they get resolved first.

HOW WE PRICE
Scope first, then a number.
You only pay for what is required, nothing more. Send the brief — SKU count, formats, whether a range has to stretch later — and we will come back with a scope-based proposal within one working day.
FAQ
Asked and answered.
How much does carton packaging design cost?
It is scoped to the work — one carton is a different job from a range sharing an architecture across sizes. You only pay for what is required, nothing more. Share your brief and we will prepare a scope-based proposal within one working day.
Do you need the carton structure settled before you start?
It helps but it is not a blocker. If your converter has already specified the structure we design to it exactly. If not, we work to a standard format and adjust once it is confirmed — which is far cheaper than discovering the mismatch at proof stage.
Do you supply print-ready artwork?
Yes — separations, spot colours, trapping, bleed and the substrate-specific adjustments your printer asks for. Where it saves a round we will speak to your printer directly.
Can you design a carton and its shipper together?
Yes, and it is worth doing. Shippers increasingly double as shelf-ready display, so a carton designed without its outer often ends up sitting inside something that undoes the work.
