PACKAGING · PERSONAL CARE

Personal care & cosmetic packaging.

Cosmetic and personal care packaging is judged at arm’s length and then again in the hand. It has to signal the category instantly on shelf, then hold up to close inspection where the finish, the typography and the claim wording all get read properly. We design skincare, hair care, henna, fragrance and salon ranges across cartons, jars, bottles and labels.

WHAT WE DESIGN HERE

Every format in the aisle.

Cosmetics and skincare

Face packs, creams and treatment ranges. Skincare is a trust purchase, so the pack has to look like it knows what is inside it — restraint reads as competence here, and clutter reads as a brand hedging its bets.

Hair care and henna

Shampoo, colour, henna and salon back-bar. Hair colour is the strictest brief in the category: the shade on the pack is a promise, and a shopper who gets a different result does not come back. Shade systems get built and proofed before anything else is designed.

Fragrance

Perfume cartons carry more weight than most packs because the product itself is invisible. The box is the entire pre-purchase argument, so structure, substrate and finish do the work that a product window does elsewhere. Foil, emboss and varnish are not decoration here — they are the only evidence a shopper has before they buy.

Salon and professional

Back-bar products are bought by a different person in a different room. A salon buyer wants capacity, dilution and shelf-life findable in a second, and does not care about the retail romance. Where a brand sells both retail and professional versions of the same product, the two need to read as one family without the professional line looking like a downgrade.

Ayurvedic and herbal claims

Herbal ranges carry an extra burden of proof. A pack that leans too hard on tradition reads as unregulated; one that leans too hard on clinical language loses the reason the buyer came. The ingredient list does much of the persuading, so it gets designed rather than set in the smallest legal type and hidden on the base.

HOW WE PRICE

Scope first, then a number.

You only pay for what is required, nothing more. Send the brief — SKU count, formats, whether a range has to stretch later — and we will come back with a scope-based proposal within one working day.

FAQ

Asked and answered.

How much does cosmetic packaging design cost?

It is scoped to what you need — one carton is not the same job as a salon range across jars, tubes and bottles. You only pay for what is required, nothing more. Share your brief and we will prepare a scope-based proposal within one working day.

Do you cover cosmetics and personal care, or only one?

Both, and the industry treats them as one category. Skincare, colour cosmetics, hair care, henna, fragrance and salon products all sit here — they share a shelf, a buyer and a compliance regime.

Can you match shades across a colour range?

Yes, and we proof on the actual substrate. A shade that holds on a coated carton can shift noticeably on a laminate tube, which is why colour work happens on press proofs rather than on screen.

Do you design the carton, the label and the container together?

Where all three are in scope, yes — and it is worth doing. A label designed without the carton in front of it tends to repeat information the box already carries, which wastes the small amount of space a jar or tube actually has.

Can you work to an existing brand identity?

Yes. Plenty of this work is packaging for a brand whose identity is already settled. We work inside your existing guidelines and flag honestly where a rule will not survive contact with a curved surface or a small format.
